Ukrainian engineers will begin production of the country's first microchips for high-precision weapons

Ukraine is actively preparing for the introduction of microchips and components for high-precision weapons into production, which promises to be an important step in the development of the national defense industry.

According to information received from the "National Industrial Portal", the new program is capable of producing up to 50,000 microcircuits every month. The Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Valeria Ionan, emphasized that this will ensure the domestic market and create a basis for exports.

The strategy for revitalizing the industry includes the formation of a network of fabless companies aimed at automated microcircuit design, which will allow Ukraine to occupy an important position in the global semiconductor market. Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that in 2024 the development and presentation of Ukraine's own chip is planned.

The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Anatoly Zahorodniy, emphasized that the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine will actively participate in the revival of microelectronics production in the country, which is important for the development and production of components for infrared homing missile heads, which are needed for the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
