Today, May 13, the 69th International Song Contest "Eurovision-2025" will start in the Swiss city of Basel. The first semifinals will open a new stage of music competition, which every year attracts the attention of millions of viewers around the world.
In 2024, Swiss representatives - a non -artist under the stage name of NEMO - won. They struck the jury and audience with the composition of "The Code", which combined elements of ass, opera and rap. Their performance became a loud manifesto of self -acceptance and fight against stereotypes.
Thanks to the victory of the NEMO, this year the competition is again in Switzerland - for the third time in the history of the country. This time the venue became the basel, namely the arena of St. Jakobshalle. Earlier, the competition was held in Lugano (1956) and Lausanne (1989).
Ukraine at the Eurovision-2025 is represented by Ziferblat with the song “Bird of Pray”. The participants of the team - Fedor Khodakov, Danilo and Valentin Leshchinsky - won the national selection on the third attempt, winning the highest support for the audience.
Ziferblat will perform fives in the first semifinals. They promise to surprise the European audience with new stage images and improved production compared to the national selection.
In total, 37 countries take part in the competition. 10 winners from every semifinals will be included in the finals, which will be joined by representatives of the Great Five (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom) and the host country-Switzerland.
