Strong, but short-term cooling will cover Ukraine already today, December 13. Especially low temperatures are expected at night, when thermometers can drop to -14°. This was reported by the well-known Ukrainian weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.
She explained that the decrease in temperature in Ukraine occurs due to the movement of fresh air mass of Arctic origin.
"The air temperature will drop at night to -6...-12 degrees, on the night of December 14, probably to -14 degrees in some places," she predicted.
In the afternoon, according to Natalka Didenko, -2...-7 degrees is expected.
"The strong wind will increase the feeling of cold below by several degrees. Dress both warmer and tighter," the weather expert advised.
However, this cooling will not last long. Already from December 15, says Natalka Didenko, the air mass will begin to change, and on the 16th it will warm up to the point of thaw. At the same time, wind and moist air will dominate.
Bad weather in the Carpathians
This morning the temperature in the Carpathians has already dropped to +14°. In the highlands, the wind is also blowing, and visibility is limited due to fog and cloud cover. The rescuers also published a photo from the top, which shows that everything around is covered with snow.
