In the Zakarpattia region, law enforcement agencies detained the management of the East European Slavic University for organizing a fictitious training for men of military age. According to the information of journalist Vitaly Glagola, the suspects created a corruption scheme that allowed young men to obtain student status for considerable money in order to avoid mobilization.
In the Zakarpattia region, the rector of a private university, as well as the former vice-rector and an employee of the military service of law and order, were detained.
As the journalist notes, the suspects organized a corruption scheme, according to which men of draft age received the status of "educational acquirer" for 1,500 euros, and deferment from mobilization for 500-1,000 dollars.
As a result of the searches, more than 4.5 million hryvnias in various currencies were seized.
According to the journalist, about 300 people of military age were able to use this scheme.
Vitaliy Glagola also reported that, according to his information, law enforcement officers detained the rector of the Eastern European Slavic University Lyudmila Nesukh.
The institution of higher education "East European Slavic University" was established in August 2012 on the basis of the reorganized Transcarpathian branch of the Kyiv Slavic University (2000-2012). Last year, the State Service for the Quality of Education included the Eastern European Slavic University in the list of higher risk institutions, which affects the periodicity of scheduled inspections.
In August, the Minister of Education of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, announced that almost 200,000 men of draft age are entering higher educational institutions for fictitious studies.
