The government of Ukraine has made an important decision that will allow large Internet providers and mobile operators to reserve all their employees from mobilization. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on his Telegram channel.
According to Fedorov, the government supported the relevant changes to the decree on the reservation of conscripts, which allows companies in the field of telecommunications to keep their key personnel, ensuring the stability of work even in the most difficult conditions. "Emergency teams of providers and operators are restoring the telecom infrastructure, so that despite the blackout and shelling, Ukrainians have communication and the Internet," the minister noted.
One of the main conditions for obtaining the possibility of booking is the status of a critical enterprise. Companies must also comply with the requirements of the National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks (NTU). This will allow them to retain the personnel necessary to ensure uninterrupted operation of telecommunications networks.
Fedorov recalled that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy set the task of stabilizing mobile communications and the Internet during power outages. "The decision to book employees is one of the necessary steps. Power outages should not affect people's basic life needs," the minister emphasized.
The process of booking employees of critical enterprises has become available online through the Diya portal since July this year. At the first stage, critical enterprises and companies working for the needs of the Defense Forces had the possibility of booking. During this time, more than 160,000 workers were booked.
In June, the Cabinet of Ministers updated the approaches to booking, which allows managers of defense-industrial complex and energy companies to book up to 100% of their employees. In addition, the reservation period for critical enterprises was increased from 6 to 12 months, and it was also allowed to reserve conscripts with scarce military accounting specialties.
