A citizen of Vinnytsia, instead of transferring the car to the needs of the army, sold it to the military

In Vinnytsia, a resident of Nemyrivshchyna became a suspect in a criminal case for fraud because he sold an SUV intended for the Armed Forces to the military instead of handing it over for free. This was reported by the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to information, in July 2023, a local resident received an SUV from the family of a fallen serviceman. The car was donated as part of free international humanitarian aid and was previously used by fallen military personnel during combat missions.

However, instead of transferring the car to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the man decided to take advantage of the situation and sold it to the military in October 2023 for UAH 100,000.

The culprit faces punishment in the form of restriction of freedom for a term of up to three years. Law enforcement officers emphasize the importance of combating fraud, which harms efforts to support and restore the Armed Forces.

This case is not an isolated one, as similar situations have recently been recorded in Ukraine, in particular, in September, when the head of a charitable organization was detained in Poltava for reselling cars that were received as humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces in the amount of over UAH 35 million.
