Civilian energy infrastructure in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Chernihiv regions came under enemy fire yesterday.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, as a result of shelling in the Sumy region, the equipment and shelter of the energy facility were seriously damaged. The shelling led to the blackout of several substations. As a result of the attack, a 54-year-old employee of the enterprise - the driver - died. Another seven workers were injured and hospitalized.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, as a result of the shelling, an overhead line was damaged, causing substations to lose power. However, consumers in this area did not experience power outages.
In the Chernihiv region, the shelling led to disconnection of overhead lines and blackout of 413 subscribers in six settlements.
The Ministry of Energy continues to monitor the situation and ensure the restoration of the energy infrastructure.
