Olympic high jump champion Yaroslava Maguchih shared the details of her engagement with her beloved Nazar Stepanov. The couple, who have been together for more than five years, decided to get engaged and confirmed their readiness for a life together. Maguchih noted that for both of them this step was deliberate and symbolic, and they do not regret their decision.
The confirmation took place in the presence of relatives, as it was important for Nazar that his proposal was accompanied by the support of the family. Yaroslava also said that they chose the ring together: since it is difficult for her to choose jewelry by size, they chose a wedding ring together even before the certification itself. The track and field athlete recalled how she wore the ring for several days, and then handed it to Nazar so that he could prove himself in the presence of his parents.
"It was important for him that his parents were there at this special moment," shared Yaroslava.
Although this is her first serious relationship, Yaroslava emphasizes that she and Nazar are sure of their feelings. For now, the couple is focused on their sports career and is in no hurry to have children. Maguchih emphasized that children are a big responsibility, for which there is not enough time now due to professional ambitions.
"As a child, I thought that I would give birth very early: at the age of 22 or 26. And now, when I'm 23, I understand that I'm not ready for this yet," admitted the athlete.
By the way, Nazar Stepanov, who runs hurdles, is the son of coach Yaroslava. The couple announced their engagement in the fall of 2023.
