The State Bureau of Investigation detained the former deputy head of the central forest office of the State Enterprise "Forest of Ukraine" on suspicion of illegal enrichment and concealment of assets for more than UAH 38 million.
The usual position of the deputy head of the branch of the SE, and in fact - a luxurious fleet, apartments in several cities, cash in dollars and euros and a fictitious divorce to hide the property. Such a picture was published by investigators of the DBR and NAPC.
According to the results of investigative actions, the following undeclared assets were established:

The NAPC specified that the scheme with "divorce" allowed the official to formally get out of the duty to declare a large part of the wealth. However, analysts have established actual cohabitation with an ex-wife, which is a sign of intentional concealment of property.
The person involved in the case was in the structure of the State Forest Giant - SE "Forests of Ukraine". An enterprise with a billion -dollar turnover is focused on anti -corruption investigations through opaque auctions, illegal felling and schemes with forest resources privatization.
In this case, according to investigators, the official received income in cash - probably from "rollbacks" and low auction rates. Further, the funds were transformed into property, redeemed into relatives or stored in dollars and the euro under the mattress.
The suspect has now been detained. He is charged with articles on illegal enrichment and non -fermentation of assets. In the near future, the court will choose a measure of restraint.
