Near Victory Park in Poltava found a grenade

In Poltava, near the Victory Park on Nizhnyomlinskaya Street, passers -by found a suspicious object lying in an old shoe near the pond. As it turned out, there was a grenade inside.

The incident was reported in Poltava region. Explosives, investigators and patrols left the place promptly. The ammunition was removed and sent for an expert study to find out its type and origin.

Law enforcement officers are currently establishing where the grenade came from, who could leave it and whether she was part of the larger hiding place. The case was qualified under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - unlawful treatment of ammunition.

Police also remind that such incidents in Ukraine are increasingly happening. In particular, there are more and more cases of careless handling of grenades - sometimes with fatal consequences.

Law enforcement officers urge citizens not to touch suspicious objects and to immediately report the findings of the police or rescuers. One careless movement can cost life.
