Ukraine and the United States have resumed work on strategic issues of cooperation. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasizing that a “meaningful meeting” was expected next week.
According to The Guardian, a high -ranking US delegation will depart on Tuesday to Saudi Arabia to meet with Ukrainian representatives. Among the US officials who will participate in the negotiations will be the Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a specialist Vitcoff and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz. From the Ukrainian side, the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak will join the discussions.
It is expected that the focus of negotiations will be the issue of military support of Ukraine, financial assistance and international initiatives aimed at increasing pressure on Russia. Saudi Arabia is becoming a key mediator in these negotiations, as she has previously been actively involved in international peace initiatives and discussing possible scenarios of war.
Restoration of contact between Ukraine and the US is an important step after a series of difficult negotiations and temporary cessation of transmission of intelligence by Washington.
