Elina Svitolina started her performance at the 2024 Olympics with a confident victory

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina had a brilliant start at the Olympic Games in Paris. On Sunday, July 28, the 31st racket of the world won easily in the first round of the competition. Svitolina confidently defeated her opponent from Japan, Moyuka Uchijima (No. 66 WTA), with a score of 6:2, 6:1.

The next opponent of the Ukrainian tennis player will be either the American Jessica Pegula (No. 6 WTA) or the Swiss Victoria Golubych (No. 79 WTA). This match will determine who Svitolina will meet in the second round.

Elina Svitolina, former number three in the world, is the best tennis player in the history of Ukraine. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo-2020, she won a bronze medal, which became the first Olympic award of independent Ukraine in tennis.

At the opening ceremony of the 2024 Games in Paris, Svitolina, together with swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk, carried the flag of Ukraine, symbolizing the strength and unity of Ukrainian athletes on the international stage.
