France will take an important step in supporting Ukraine by sending about a dozen Scalp missiles, which will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike behind the front line. This was reported by French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu, stressing that this decision is a fulfillment of the promise that French President Emmanuel Macron made to Volodymyr Zelensky.
"In order to allow Ukraine to strike behind the front line, the other day I signed the transfer of about ten Scalp missiles, as the president of the republic promised Volodymyr Zelenskyi," said Lecornu in an interview with the French publication JDD. This decision will be an important stage in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, in particular for attacks on the enemy's deep rear positions.
In addition, Lecornu announced new deliveries of Mistral anti-aircraft missiles, which should strengthen Ukrainian air defense. "With the onset of winter, Russia's deep strikes on the territory of Ukraine are likely to intensify. We will supply Mistral missiles again, in particular, to protect combat zones," the French Defense Minister added.
The delivery of these missiles is an important step to ensure the protection of the Ukrainian territory from Russian attacks, in particular, in the conditions of the intensification of hostilities in the fall and winter. France continues to be one of the main defense partners of Ukraine, contributing to the stability and security of the region.
