Law enforcement officers reported suspicions against an official of the Svyatoshyn district state administration, who was responsible for conducting tenders in the field of education, youth, and sports. According to the investigation, it was because of her actions that the community overpaid more than 850,000 hryvnias during the purchase of fire-fighting equipment.
As investigators established, the Department of Education of the Regional State Administration announced a tender for the purchase of fire cabinets, fire extinguishers and other protective and rescue equipment. The official responsible for the procurement ensured the victory of a previously selected contractor. To create the appearance of competition, other companies formally participated in the bidding, offering even higher prices.
As a result of the concluded contract, over 2.2 million UAH was transferred from the city budget to the contractor, of which over 850 thousand UAH, according to the investigation, was an overpayment.
The official was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - abuse of power or official position, which led to grave consequences. This article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to six years with a ban on holding certain positions for up to three years.
The investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Pechersk Police Department of Kyiv with the participation of the Cyber Police Department and under the procedural guidance of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office.
