Rules for submitting applications for deferment from mobilization have changed in Ukraine

In Ukraine, citizens liable for military service who wish to receive a deferment from mobilization must personally apply to the Territorial Center for Recruiting and Social Support (TCS and SP). They must submit an application for a deferment along with their military registration document.

This process was clarified after amendments were made to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 560. From January 16, 2025, new rules came into force, according to which citizens are required to personally submit an application to the head of the CCC and SP at the place of their military registration. The publication of the Poltava Regional CCC and SP on Facebook emphasizes that this wording does not imply the possibility of submitting an application by mail.

“The position of the Poltava Regional CCC and SP remains unchanged: to submit an application for a deferment, a citizen subject to military service must personally arrive at the CCC and SP. No “deferments by mail” are provided for by current legislation,” the publication noted.
