Former Poltava Official forgot to declare 95 million hryvnias

Investigators reported the suspicion of the former chief of one of the departments of the Main Directorate of the State Treasury Service in Poltava Oblast. The official filed a declaration for 2023, in which he indicated deliberately false data. The discrepancy between officially declared and actual wealth exceeds UAH 95 million.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to law enforcement officers, the expostist of the State Treasury filed a declaration to the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption, which provided false information about his income and assets. The audit revealed that the data in the declaration was inflated by over UAH 95 million.

It is worth noting that in November 2024, unjustified assets of the exponent were found during the investigation, including millions of US dollars. It was also found that in 2023 the official declared more than $ 60 million in cash, as well as precious metals in ingots, the cost of which is estimated at UAH 38 million.

Law enforcement officers are currently continuing the investigation and finding out the details of the falsification of the declaration.
