Former candidate for the post of director of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine Igor Shepetin again went to court, trying to challenge the results of the competition. This is the second submission, and for the second time in this process, his interests are a lawyer, which leads to the former SBU chairman Valery Khoroshkovsky. This step looks like a continuation of attempts to reveal the old corruption system for a position that opens access to the country's most sensitive economic affairs.
Shepetin filed a lawsuit against the commission, which is selected by the head of the Beb. Its protection is carried out by a firm founded by Ivan Derevyanko, a former SBU general, close to Valery Khoroshkovsky. His son Artem, also a lawyer, is officially included in the structure that conducts the case.
General Ivan Derevyanko was a "right hand" of Khoroshkovsky in a time when he headed both the SBU and the customs service. In 2019, Derevyanko allegedly planned to return to one of the key positions in the SBU structure - the Main Directorate of "K" or to customs - at the same quota of influence.
The current interest in Derevyanka and Khoroshkovsky Shepetin is obviously not accidental. In 2025, in the framework of the criminal proceedings, the Bab # 4202200000000001113 was arrested assets related to Khoroshkovsky and his ancient business partner Vadim Grigoriev. They are suspected of tax evasion for more than UAH 184 million.
Similar cases in Ukraine have quite specific consequences: for example, in the case of Konstantin Zhevago Arrest of Property (Poltava GOK) it was enough to paralyze some of its assets. That is why control over Bab is strategic for those who appear in tax evasion-and many of the old political and oligarchic elite.
In addition, in 2020-2023 Vadim Grigoriev was already accused of non -payment of UAH 160 million for buying the office of Kyivmetrobud at a lace, 8 in the center of Kiev. At that time, the case was successfully "reflected" by lawyers from Ader Haber, which is associated with a close associate of Andrei Portnov - Valery Pisarenko.
Thus, Shepetin is not just an ex-candidate for a key position. It is part of a complex system of influences that closes on the Tandem of Portnov -Khoroshkovsky. Their lawyers, the old SBU staff and the control of lawyer's structures are again trying to get controls of control over the most sensitive anti -corruption investigations - precisely through Bab.
And while Shepetin goes to the courtroom for the second time, the society remains to watch the attempt of those who have long been written off from the political field, to return - through legal holes and their people in the competition commissions.
