On the night of July 10, a powerful rain began in Lviv, which has already led to serious flooding in the city and a number of communities of the region. After a few hot days with a temperature of about +30 ° C, the region has sharply cooled, accompanied by intense rains. Forecasters forecasts, precipitation will last at least the end of the day.
Flooded streets, first floors and parking lots
The most difficult situation is currently observed in the streets of Kulparkiv, Truskavets and Aviation. Near the residential complex "Continent" in the village of Sokilnyki water flooded the parking lot: the water level reached the windows of the cars, some of the cars were thrown away, others almost completely underwater.
The bison river left the shores, the flow of water flooded the adjacent areas, making it impossible to travel. The locals report the flooding of basements, adjoining areas and even the first floors of residential buildings.
Consequences of bad weather: over 190 settlements remained without light
According to the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maxim Kozytsky, as of the morning of July 10, 192 settlements remain without power supply, 55 of them are completely de -related, and 137 - partially.
"Emergency crews work on the ground, but it is difficult to eliminate the effects of flooding as long as it stops," the Lviv City Council reported.
Projections: The rains won't subside
According to the Ukrhydromet Center, heavy rains in Lviv and west of Ukraine will last at least until the end of the day on July 10. Due to the weather conditions, residents are urged not to leave their homes unnecessarily, to avoid flooded areas and to be careful on the roads.
