On Tuesday, April 29, a serious road accident involving a long-distance bus, which housed 26 people, including citizens of Ukraine, took place near the Airport named after Frederick Chopin Airport in Warsaw. The incident happened at the congress with the S2 motorway on the S7 route.
According to the Polish edition of Miejski Reporter , the bus hit the energy absorption barriers on a steep turn, then fell to the side. Rescuers and doctors arrived immediately. People were evacuated from the vehicle, some of them were given first aid at the scene.
"The bus that entered the S7, left the road, crashed into the fence and spread to the side. We evacuated passengers and assisted, ”said Poland National Fire Service, Lukash Wayk.
A new accident during a rescue operation
As the rescue work continued, another incident happened. The truck crashed into a voluntary fire (OSP). As a result, the drivers of both vehicles and one rescuer were injured. Everyone was taken to the hospital.
A total of 16 people were injured
The pressecretic of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Polish administration, Jacek Dovzhinsky, confirmed that 16 people were sent to hospitals, including a child.
“The situation is controlled. 16 people were taken to the hospital, including one child. Among the victims include 12 bus passengers, a truck driver, an OSP driver and a rescuer, ”Dovzhinsky said in his post on the X .
According to the Polish services, the condition of two victims is evaluated as severe.
