A fatal fire broke out in a private residential building in the village of Druzhnya, Buchansky district, Kyiv region. While extinguishing the fire, rescuers discovered the bodies of two dead men.
The fire broke out in the morning, December 27, at 10:50. As reported in the press service of the Kyiv region police, employees of the State Emergency Service (SES) promptly arrived at the scene.
During the elimination of the fire, the bodies of two men were found in one of the rooms. It has been previously established that the cause of the fire was a faulty electric heater.
The law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the requirements of fire or man-made safety established by law, which led to the death of people. Investigators are currently establishing the circumstances of the tragedy.
This tragic case once again reminds us of the importance of observing the rules for operating electrical appliances, especially in the cold season. Using faulty or unreliable heaters can have fatal consequences.
Rescuers urge citizens to carefully check the condition of electrical appliances before use, avoid overloading the power grid, and do not leave heaters unattended.
