In the Odessa region, police detained a group of people who had a 71-year-old woman who disappeared at the front during the year. The scammers wrote letters on his behalf and demanded transfers to false accounts. The total amount they received amounted to almost UAH 415 thousand.

Among the detainees are the neighbors of the victim of the Black Sea, a 24-year-old woman with her 29-year-old cohabitant, as well as their acquaintance. According to the investigation, since August 2024, they issued themselves for the missing military person and sending their mother invented reports with requests for help.
“The attackers knew that the woman was receiving cash from the state and organizing a fraudulent scheme. They wrote letters where on behalf of their son they asked to send money for treatment, clothing and documents. In total, a total of about UAH 415 thousand have made a few transfers for a year, ”police said.
During the searches, the suspects seized personal documents of the missing military, bank cards, phones, as well as the next prepared letter with a request to send another 80 thousand hryvnias.
The prosecutor's office said that the woman had passed to the attackers and packages - including documents and large amounts of cash. One of these packages included almost 175 thousand hryvnias, a passport, a military ticket, a certificate of combatants, a driver's license and medical papers.

Part 2 and Part 3 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code - a fraud committed by a group of persons in martial law.
