17-year-old Taisiya Onofriychuk went down in the history of Ukrainian sports, winning the gold of the European Gymnastics Championship in personal all-around. This is Ukraine's first victory in this discipline over the last 28 years.
In the finals, which took place on June 4, 2025, Taisiya scored 117,800 points, ahead of Bulgarian Nikolava (116,700) and German Dar Dar Bartholomeyev (115,150). Her compatriot Pauline Karika took the tenth place with a result of 109.950 points.
This title made Onofriychuk the youngest Ukrainian absolute champion of Europe in rhythmic gymnastics. She became only a third Ukrainian who was able to win all -around at a continental level - after Kateryna Serebryanskaya (1996) and Elena Witrichenko (1997).
The finals were attended by 25 gymnasts, divided into two groups. Both representatives of Ukraine were confidently qualified to the decisive stage.
2025 was extremely successful for Onofriychuk: she performed at six international tournaments, and 29 times from 30 possible rising to the podium, including 18 gold awards.
Her success is not only a personal achievement, but also a strong signal about the revival of the Ukrainian school of gymnastics at the highest level.
