The beginning of the week in Ukraine will be truly wintery — with severe frosts and almost no precipitation. According to the forecast of weather forecaster Natalia Didenko, cold air will sweep the country on February 2, causing the temperature to drop to abnormally low levels.
At night, the thermometer will show -20…-28 degrees, and during the day the air will warm up only to -12…-19 degrees. It will be a little warmer in the south: at night -12…-18 is expected, during the day - from -2 to -10 degrees.
The reason for the frosty weather is a powerful anticyclone that continues to dominate the territory of Ukraine. It will provide dry and mostly clear weather in most regions. Almost no precipitation is expected, and the wind will be weak.
However, the situation is somewhat different in the southern regions. Due to the proximity of the Black Sea cyclone, snowfalls and blizzards are possible in Crimea and the Sea of Azov, which can complicate the road situation.
The lowest temperatures are forecast in the northern and eastern regions, where the frost will be felt especially sharply. Forecasters advise residents to dress warmly, limit prolonged outdoor exposure, and closely monitor forecast updates, as the cold weather may linger for several days.
