The Starokozacha community has been the focus of sustained interest and public outrage, where a serious situation has arisen with the rental of real estate near an international highway. According to local sources, the head and other community officials have been demanding an extremely high amount from local entrepreneurs for the rental of land plots.
On June 13, the Special Operations Division of the National Police in the Odessa region detained the head of the Starokozacha community, Vadym Boyko, and the head of the inter-district water management department in the Odessa region, and the organizer of the scheme, the head of the river water resources department, near Bila Tserkva.
For $40,000, the defendants promised to lease a complex of buildings and structures along with a 16-hectare area along a highway of international importance, where the entrepreneur was going to build a parking lot for trucks.
To achieve this, they planned to transfer the real estate and land to the balance of the ATC, and then to lease it for a long term to an entrepreneur with a priority right of redemption.
The head of one of the river water resources departments was supposed to receive $20,000 through a certain currency exchange point in the capital, and the other defendants wanted to divide the rest among themselves.
