The foundation, which presented the head of the Anti-Corruption Center (ACC), Vitaliy Shabunin, with a volunteer car, has made an official statement in connection with the scandal surrounding the use of the car. The head of the foundation, Valeriy Dolynsky, confirmed that the car was donated specifically for the needs of the front, and stated that he does not know the reasons why the anti-corruption activist drives the car, and also noted that the foundation does not support such use.
“Serviceman Shabunin really applied to our fund for assistance in the form of a car for the country's defense capability. Yes, according to him, he really planned to use it in Donbas to protect the country. Yes, according to him, he really serves using a car for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, imported specifically for the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And yes, in the act of acceptance of the transfer, we as a fund indicate the purpose, for the defense of the country,” Dolynsky writes.
He says that they at the foundation "do not support" Shabunin's use of the car for personal purposes to move around Kyiv, and if they had known this, they would not have given him the car.
Recall, according to media reports, Shabunin is going to be charged with suspicion in the near future for this episode, as well as for failing to report for military service.
