Ukraine is experiencing a serious imbalance in the labor market - the country lacks specialists in critical industries. The Ministry of Education and Science has identified a list of specialties that are priorities in the context of the restoration of the state. Deputy Minister Mykhailo Vynnytskyi stated this on Ukrainian Radio.
According to Vynnytskyi, the primary need is for specialists who work with people:
-
Doctors of various profiles
-
Educators at all levels of education
-
Rehabilitators and therapists who help people recover from injuries and stress
-
Psychologists, especially in the field of therapeutic support
These professions remain difficult to obtain, have high competition thresholds, however, according to the official, they are of decisive importance for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
The second important area is infrastructure:
-
Engineering specialties, including mechanics, energy, and automotive transport
-
Architecture and construction
-
Aviation and drone engineering, which is becoming increasingly relevant in wartime
To motivate applicants to choose these industries, the Ministry of Education and Science is increasing the number of budget places and expanding grant support programs for contract workers.
Separately, Vynnytskyi drew attention to the decline in interest in fundamental sciences:
"Unfortunately, we are observing a very low level of interest in such basic specialties as physics, chemistry, biology, geodesy, and ecology," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
The Ministry of Education and Science urges applicants to consider not only popularity or fashion, but also the real needs of the country. Choosing a socially significant profession is a contribution to the stability, security, and reconstruction of the state.
