The situation in Toretsk, a city in eastern Ukraine, is becoming increasingly tense due to a possible offensive by the occupying forces, who have partially surrounded the city. Roman Svitan, a military expert and instructor pilot, speaking on Channel 24, emphasized the threat posed by the occupiers who are trying to enter the route through Horlivka, leading to Toretsk.
According to him, Toretsk, like Chasiv Yar, is located on a commanding height, which gives it a military advantage. That is why the Russian invaders are trying to advance to this city in order to gain strategic advantages.
At the same time, Svitan claims that now Toretsk is partially surrounded. "Toretsk is half surrounded. From the north, Russian troops are trying to break through in the area of Klishchiivka and Andriivka, and from the south and south-west in the area of Ocheretiny, they are trying to get to the road to Kostyantynivka. A serious problem may arise in the Toretsk garrison if the Russians advance from the north and west," said Svitan.
The expert assumed that this direction will have to be strengthened or the front line in the area of Chasovoy Yar, Andriivka, or Klishchiivka will have to be leveled. In his opinion, the Armed Forces may resort to one of these maneuvers to prevent the advance on Toretsk. For this, Svitan says, a sufficient amount of forces and resources are needed. In the near future, it will become clear what decision our military command will make. So far, there is no significant threat of a breakthrough for Toretsk, but it may arise, the expert concluded.
