In Cherkasy region, two people will be brought to court for misappropriating funds that were intended to support territorial defense fighters. This was reported by the press service of the Cherkasy regional prosecutor's office.
According to the investigation, a 21-year-old resident of Uman region hid the shortcomings of the technical condition of the car and handed it over to the executive committee of one of the local councils at an inflated price. The vehicle was planned to be handed over to territorial defense fighters. The woman is charged with fraud committed under martial law (Part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The local government official who made such a purchase will be tried for official negligence (Part 1 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It is noted that these actions resulted in losses to the local budget in the amount of over 228 thousand hryvnias. In order to compensate for the losses caused, the prosecutor filed a corresponding lawsuit.
The court hearing should determine the liability of both parties and establish mechanisms for compensation for damages.
