For the first time in 28 years, Ukraine reached the semi-finals of the World Futsal Championship

The Ukrainian national futsal team achieved considerable success, defeating Venezuela in the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a score of 9:4 and reaching the semi-finals of this prestigious tournament for the first time in 28 years. The match took place at Humo Arena in Tashkent, where the Ukrainians demonstrated an impressive game.

Goals for the national team of Ukraine were scored by:

  • Daniil Abakshin : 5, 16, 18 minutes
  • Petro Shoturma : 14 minutes
  • Nazar Shved : 20 minutes
  • Rostislav Semenchenko : 21 minutes
  • Oleksandr Sukhov : 27 minutes
  • Ihor Chernyavskyi : 32 minutes
  • Mykola Mykytyuk : 38 minutes

The Venezuelan team responded with goals from Milton Francia (6th minute), Jesus Viamonte (16th minute), Alfredo Vidal (17th minute) and Rafael Morillo (30th minute). In particular, it is worth noting that one of the goals was scored by goalkeeper Oleksandr Sukhov, which was not only an achievement for him personally, but also an unforgettable moment for the entire team.

This is the second time in the history of Ukraine to reach the semi-finals of the Futsal World Championship. The first time the team achieved this success was in 1996, when they finished 4th, losing both decisive matches.

In the semifinals, Ukraine will meet with the powerful team of Brazil, which defeated Morocco 3:1 in the quarterfinals. The match will take place on October 2 in Tashkent, starting at 18:00 Kyiv time. Ukrainians hope for the support of their fans in this important match, which promises to be intense and exciting.
