According to the source in the Presidential Office, Ukraine has already received the Taurus long -range missiles, but now their use is constrained by the absence of the final permission to the task of blows in Russia deep from the front line.
According to the source, the operation on transportation and placement of missiles took place in conditions of absolute secrecy and was implemented jointly by British and German intelligence. It is an interstate coordination, which provided for the delivery of weapons without public announcement and taking into account high risks of political nature.
Interestingly, NATO headquarters in the European Union are dealing with the definition of the goals for the possible use of Taurus. It is not only about objects in temporarily occupied territories, but also about strategic goals in Russia, in particular - military infrastructure, aerodromes, management points and logistics units.
It should be reminded that the discussion about the provision of Taurus's cruise missiles to Ukraine has been going on for over a year. The main obstacle was the political reservations of the German government, including Chancellor Olaf Solz, who repeatedly declared the reluctance of escalation of war due to blows to the Russian territory.
However, according to the source, the missiles are already in the territory of Ukraine, and in the case of a permit, the Armed Forces can promptly implement point attacks on important military objects of the enemy.
It was previously known that the Taurus missiles - up to 500 km, which allows the Armed Forces to achieve deep in the rear of the Russian Federation, including objects in the territory of Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh regions and even further - depending on the rocket flight route.
All key decisions on the use of long-range missile weapons are made at the level of NATO's military-political leadership. That is why the Taurus combat use permit is still agreed, despite the actual availability of missiles in the Ukrainian territory.
As soon as the corresponding permission is obtained, it is expected to increase the Ukrainian opportunities for deep blows to the rear of the enemy, in particular for the defeat of logistics and aviation bases, which are unattainable for other types of weapons, including Storm Shadow and Scalp.
