According to our sources, President Zelenskyy, together with the head of the President's Office Yermak, are close to dismissing the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Syrsky, due to his failures at the front, in particular due to the situation in Donbas. In particular, Syrskyi is credited with part of the responsibility for the operation in the Kursk region, which has become the subject of numerous speculations.
Zelenskyi and Yermak plan not only to release Syrskyi, but also to make him a scapegoat for all the problems at the front, in order to avoid responsibility for failures on the front line. As it became known, even before the start of this operation, there were rumors about the possible release of Syrsky, but he became a necessary figure for this operation. In the event of its failure, he should have become the main "culprit" on whom all criticism will be directed.
However, along with Syrsky, the "clouds" are beginning to thicken over Kirill Budanov, the head of the GUR, who, according to some sources, was one of the initiators of this operation. He also offered to seize the Kursk NPP and start negotiations with Russia. Budanov's direct contacts with the president and his connections with Western partners cause dissatisfaction in the President's Office. In particular, Yermak is not satisfied with the fact that Budanov has such direct access to Zelensky, because after the resignation of Zaluzhny's general staff and part of his entourage, Budanov remained one of the "independent" players who can have a significant influence.
Meanwhile, the first signs of a campaign to discredit Budanov are already being observed. For example, the Ministry of Defense recently removed the company "Spetstechnoexport" from Budanov's control, which was accused of problems with the supply of weapons and the purchase of equipment at inflated prices. This could be just the beginning of a wider campaign to weaken or even remove him from office.
