A terrible tragedy occurred in the village of Malyy Bereznyi in Transcarpathia: during a feast, a 32-year-old woman detonated a grenade, as a result of which three people, including her parents, died. Only her 14-year-old son survived, and he called the police.
On November 29, at 10:39 p.m., a teenager called the police to report the discovery of his grandfather's body. An investigative team together with forensic experts went to the scene of the incident.
The police found the bodies of a 32-year-old woman, her 55-year-old mother, and her 70-year-old father in the house. It was established that during the feast, the deceased were drinking alcoholic beverages, when the woman picked up a grenade of unknown origin and set it off.
During the search of the premises, law enforcement officers found three more hidden grenades. The ammunition was recovered, and their origin is being investigated.
As a result of the tragedy, the police opened criminal proceedings under 2 Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder). Currently, investigative actions aimed at establishing the circumstances of the incident and the source of the grenades are ongoing.
