Law enforcement officers reported suspicions of an official of the municipal enterprise "Road Operation Department of Solomyansky District" in official negligence when spending city funds. The investigation was initiated based on the results of monitoring and control conducted by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention.
According to the circumstances established by the investigation, in 2023, the KP concluded an agreement for the purchase of technical salt for sprinkling asphalt with a private company at an inflated price. The actions of the officials led to the imposition of losses to the city budget in the amount of more than 2 million hryvnias. The materials of the NACP formed the basis of a reasoned conclusion, after which law enforcement officers began a pre-trial investigation.
Investigators of the Dnipro Police Department of Kyiv, together with employees of the Strategic Investigations Department in Kyiv, reported suspicion to the police officer under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence). The sanction of the article provides for up to five years of imprisonment and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
The investigation is ongoing: investigators will conduct all necessary procedural actions to establish the circumstances of the case, the role of other officials, and the involvement of counterparties in concluding contracts at inflated prices.
